Shakespeare in the Park
with Cindi Calhoun
Hello, BlackBox Family!
Shakespeare in the Park/Twelfth Night was delayed a week. Now, out of an abundance of caution, we're going to officially start the class April 4, and perform the weekend of May 16. We want to be smart, be safe, and act in the best interests of our community.
When we start our class on April 4, be ready to jump into a full Shakespeare production class - how to read it, speak it, act it, and all-around play with it. And we're going to have fun!
As always, thank you so much for your support of BlackBox and our mission for the community.
For teens 13 to 19.
A shipwreck, separated twins, love triangles, lowbrow pranks, and a Fool. Shakespeare's Twelfth Night satirizes how the world can be topsy-turvy when the servants are in charge.
Join us for our Shakespeare in the Park workshop where actors will learn techniques of Shakespearean acting, including understanding and using the language, creating characters, and incorporating body work. Actors will also develop skills of blocking, projection, and breath support to effectively present a play in an outdoor venue. The workshop will end with performing Tweflth Night in the Park behind BlackBox.
Workshops begin March 7, and run from 1pm to 4pm on Saturdays. Performance dates are April 18, 19, 25, and 26 at 2pm.
